God Is Love

God is love. That’s it. End of story. There is nothing else.

How do I know? For a start the Bible says he is. So that should be enough.
But like Luke, the doctor, the sceptic, and finally one of Christ’s greatest disciples, you will need to find out for yourself. Do it. It’s a truly amazing journey.

Check out 1 John 4 in the Bible. He loved us first.

And while you’ve got your Bible open you may as well read Jeremiah 29:11. Funnily enough God has a plan for you. Not just any plan but a plan to prosper you, in all areas of your life, to give you a hope, and a future!

And I know all this, not just from His word, but also from my own personal experience and from also seeing others lives change because of his awesome LOVE and mighty POWER.

Let me tell you a little about this life of mine. Life did not start out as well as expected. I had. at age 1, an unknown type of Leukaemia. I was sent home to die but soon after I was totally healed by, I believe, a praying Grandmother.

My parents were not Christians but I always, even as a very young child, prayed and believed in this God out there that had been waiting for me to call on Him.

I was married at 20 and my marriage was all but over around 15 years later. But God intervened and my beautiful wife and I fully committed our lives to him and never look back.

I try never to look back. What’s the point? Some may say “to learn from my mistakes”. Maybe. But I believe the future is where my life lies.

Philippians 3:12-14 says this: Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

So, life is going to be a bed of roses, a box of chocolates, a breeze, from now on? Nope. Peter, James and Paul remind us that trials will come and in fact that there may be many.
Wow, so where’s “God’s love” in all that?

God says in 2 Peter 2 that he knows how to rescue us when the proverbial hits the fan.
James tells us that we will all go through all storms. And he even said to actually consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds so you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. He goes on to say, “let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything and that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

So go on what are you waiting for?

What have you got to lose?

Call on Him anytime you’re ready.

Here’s one more scripture – just to encourage you on your way: Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know”
How cool is that!

What have you got to lose? Nothing.

What have I got to gain? Everything!

Eternity in Heaven with our Heavenly Father is just beginning and a wonderful reward for accepting His son Jesus into your life.

God is love. That’s it. End of story. There is nothing else.
