I want to ask you a question.
What would you give or do to get someone saved?
A friend, a family member, a business partner, a neighbour; even a complete stranger?
What is your first thought when I ask this? Thats generally your heart answering.
Would you like to die knowing that you gave your all for Christ or just your part?
Whats the cost of someones salvation? We all know that Christ paid the ultimate cost but
what about us? What do we give? If we are honest and I mean truly, truly honest we give
stuff all.
Do we give, or do, just enough to make ourselves feel better?
Do we give just enough to get God (or the Pastor) off our backs?
Do we give, or do, out of obligation?
Do we give a damn?
If our salvation is so fantastic then why don’t we tell the world about it?
Trust me. Very few just walk into church and ask for salvation.
We have to walk into their lives!
Do any of these sound familiar?
“oh I’m showing Christs light through the way I live”
Really? Hows it going so far?
“I’m praying for them”
How’s long you been doing that for? How’s it going? Have you asked them the question?”
“I’m not into that sort of thing”
Eh?
“I don’t know how”
Good on you for being honest.
So. What would you do to save someone from going to hell for eternity?
Really the answer should be anything!
If the cost for getting someone saved is shame or embarrassment, so what. Step out. What is the worst thats going to happen?
If the cost is financial, so what. Are they worth it? Of course. You’re not taking it with you and I know God will not fail to look after you. Please I’m not saying be foolish but I’m also not giving you an excuse to not take a risk.
If the cost is your time, then its time to prioritise.
1 Peter 4:14:
If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.
However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.
For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”
So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
It shouldn’t even be considered a cost, but an absolute pleasure!
