The first train I wrote about was VICTORY
The second train was putting EFFORT in to being godly
This train is probably the most important for us as an army of believers.
2 Samuel 22:35
He trains my hands for battle
Our battle begins at home.
With ourselves and within ourselves
And then within our family, being our church family.
Then and only then can we go out and battle the evil in this world.
We have to be so aware of our enemy and his tactics. I know that “greater is he that is
in me than he that is in the world” but don’t be naive. Satan will fight you day and night.
Hebrews 5:14 reminds us that we need to distinguish good from evil and
John 13:35 tells us that the world will know Christ by us loving one another.
You would think that it would be easy in church but we often see little fires going on
between people that should know better. Hence this verse reminding us to
get rid of the plank in our own eye before we take a speck out of another
persons eye. And if you are not prepared to do so; if you are not prepared to
listen to a friends advice or your Pastors advice, then God will step in.
Because sometimes he trains you thru discipline.
Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however,
it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
God, our loving Father, does all this because He wants children that will battle
for him with reverence, obedience, love, patience, and persistence through to the end.
In battle I want people around me that I know will be for me, love me, respect me,
fight with me, protect me. Because I will for my family.
If we look at the armour of God in Ephesians 6 we put on a helmet, breastplate, leg
protection, and then take up a shield and a sword.
You will find that the only vulnerable part of our body is our back.
Don’t be a back stabber.
Galatians 6 trains us for battle so well. Look at this advice:
Restore a person that has stumbled gently.
Carry each other’s burdens.
Don’t think you are something when you are not, so to deceive yourself.
Each one should test their own actions without comparing themselves to someone else.
A man reaps what he sows.
Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows
to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Do good to all people especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
A company divided against itself will surely fall. So make sure that every time you step out that God is in that step and that God is driving your train.
Lets go!
