Wait A Minute

I am very, very impatient when I’m onto something.
I hate waiting.
As a kid I hated waiting for holidays.
I hated waiting for Christmas Day and would wake REAL early and check out who got the biggest present.
Hopefully its me!
I still hate waiting for holidays!

What about stuff with God? What’s his view on waiting?

Romans 8 says we have to wait patiently for hope.
Jude 1 says keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength.

A lot of church folk love waiting.
I will wait until I’m married before I do something for God.
I’m waiting until I’m debt free.
I wait because I can’t do anything – I’m way too young/old/uneducated/busy.
I’m waiting for a sign from God!

I really can’t find anywhere in the scriptures that says that we must wait for God to write in the sky or come in a cloud or visit you at the end of your bed to tell us what he wants us to do.

God uses words like GO and WENT

Mark 16:15 says we are to GO out into all the world and preach the gospel.

Jesus WENT.
Paul WENT.
The disciples WENT.

So how about today you ask God “where can I go?’ or “what can I do?”.
If you don’t know or can’t hear then GO and ask you Pastor or someone in your church that is doing stuff already and get on board.

Don’t wait another minute!
